How to Find Us:
Lake Purgatory Unit I subdivision is located in the northern part of La Plata County, Colorado. The entrance to the area is via Lake Purgatory Drive, which is located 28 miles north of Durango, Colorado along US 550 - just north of mile post 48.
From Durango, proceed north on US 550 to a point 2/10 of a mile north of mile post 48 and turn right onto Lake Purgatory Drive. If you reach Engineer Village or Purgatory Ski area, you have gone too far.
From Silverton, you will pass the Purgatory Ski Resort on the right before coming to the turn off. There is a dedicated left turn lane at the entrance to Lake Purgatory Drive. If you reach Silver Pick condominiums, you have gone too far.
Follow Lake Purgatory Drive across a small bridge, then keep
right at the first opportunity. The road is not paved, and it will shortly take you past a small lake and begin its ascent to the entrance to Lake Purgatory Unit I. The Lake Purgatory Unit I entrance is just over a mile from the highway turnoff.
Please remember the speed limit on all neighborhood roads is 15mph. The roads are steep and curvy, please drive safely.

Follow US 550 north of Durango, Colorado, just past mile post 48 to Lake Purgatory Drive. Cross the bridge and take the next right turn, drive around the lake and follow Lake Purgatory Drive approximately one mile to the entrance of Lake Purgatory Unit I Subdivision. There are three side streets in the subdivision: Ponderosa Way, Columbine Way and Big Pine Trail. These are shown at the right of this map.
